Mako's her family celebrates Bodi day, the day when the Buddha achieved enlightenment the lights on the tree represent the path to enlightenment. Alex brings a Menorah, Alex's family celebrates Hannukah, and the candles symbolize light's triumph over dark. River brings in a crown made of holly candles sticking out of it. her family celebrates Winter Solstice & the return of the sun. Ms. Dennis says all their celebrations revolve around light and the symbol of the Unitarian Universalist Church is a flaming chalice, each of the children have a light inside of them. River suggests they sing "This little light of mine" for the winter concert. Everyone agrees.

They looked so happy and free! “Papa, why did Allah make so many different animals?” she asked. Her father replied, “Allah created every animal, plant, and human with a purpose. Each one is a sign of His love and creativity.” Page 4 On their way home, Thazkie thought about all the amazing things she saw. She felt grateful for the beautiful world Allah had created. “I want to thank Allah for all these wonderful things,” she said. Page 5 Her father smiled and held her hand. “That’s right, Thazkie.We can thank Allah every day by appreciating His creations and taking care of them.” And from that day on, Thazkie remembered to look around her and say a little “thank you” to Allah whenever she saw something beautiful.

Mama Bear, Papa Bear. and Pip were beaming, and even Mrs. Honeycomb peeked in from the doorway, waving a small gift bag. Barnaby's eyes widened. "You remembered!" he whispered. his voice choked with happy tears. Mama Bear chuckled. "Of course, we remembered, sleepyhead! We just wanted to make it a really special surprise. We planned this all along! Papa Bear winked. "We even managed to keep it a secret from your little sister - that was the hardest part! That night, surrounded by the warmth of his family and friends. Barnaby blew out his candles, making a wish for lots more secret surprises and many more happy birthdays. It turned out to be the best surprise birthday ever! (It is a fable story so character should be animals)

Lily didn’t know what to do. She was worried but didn’t want to upset Sam. She thought hard and decided it was important to help. So, Lily told her teacher, "I’m worried about Sam."
