Avery's First Year!

Avery Hughes was born to Abby and Weston. Their dog Vern loved baby Avery. Avery went to daycare with his four friends. Weston loved to play guitar for Avery. Avery loved to take baths. Avery celebrated his first birthday with Abby and Weston. What a blessing Avery is for Abby and Weston. Wonderful life still to come. Abby snuggled with Avery and read books.

Vern's tail wagged when Avery came home. The German Shepherd mix sniffed the tiny bundle carefully. Abby watched nervously as Vern gently licked Avery's foot. From that moment, Vern became Avery's furry guardian.

At six weeks, Avery smiled at Weston during a diaper change. His little face lit up the whole room. Abby grabbed the camera just in time. That smile became their favorite treasure.

Vern lay beside Avery during tummy time. The baby pushed up on his arms, watching the dog. Vern's white eyebrows raised whenever Avery made sounds. They became the best of friends.

Avery opened his mouth for mashed bananas. His eyes widened at the new taste. Weston laughed as more food landed on Avery's chin than in his mouth. Vern waited hopefully below the high chair.

Avery rocked back and forth on hands and knees. Vern placed a toy just out of reach. With determination, Avery moved forward one hand at a time. Abby clapped as he reached his destination.

Bath time became Avery's favorite part of the day. He kicked his legs, creating tiny waves. Rubber ducks bobbed around him in the warm water. Abby sang songs while washing his light brown hair.

Weston strummed his guitar while Avery bounced on his lap. The baby's eyes followed his father's fingers across the strings. Avery swayed to the gentle rhythm. Music filled their home with happiness.

Avery made four special friends at daycare. They shared toys and babbled in their own language. Abby watched him grow more social each day. His smile was biggest when playing with his friends.

Avery pulled himself up using the coffee table. Weston knelt a few steps away, arms outstretched. Avery let go and wobbled toward his father. Three steps later, he fell into Weston's waiting arms.

Abby snuggled with Avery in the rocking chair. Books with colorful pictures captured his attention. His small fingers pointed at animals on the pages. These quiet moments became their special tradition.

Avery's first birthday arrived with balloons and cake. Vern wore a party hat while Avery smashed frosting everywhere. Abby and Weston watched their miracle with grateful hearts. What a blessing their first year together had been.
