The Spooky Night

Don't be scared, little Aspen

Little Aspen was scared, oh so scared. Halloween was coming, and she wasn't prepared. Costumes and masks, they made her shy. She'd hide behind mom, and quietly sigh.
1
Mom gave Aspen a hug, warm and tight. She said, 'Halloween is fun, not a fright.' 'We'll dress up together, you'll see it's true. We'll be silly and happy, just me and you.'
2
They went to the store, costumes to find. Aspen saw a princess, oh so kind. A fairy with wings, and a pirate too. She smiled and giggled, 'Which one should I do?'
3
Aspen picked a costume, a cute little bee. She buzzed around happily, filled with glee. Mom found a witch hat, pointy and tall. 'We'll have so much fun, we'll laugh and call!'
4
They decorated the house, with pumpkins and lights. Ghosts and spiders, oh what sights! Aspen helped mom, with a big happy grin. She felt brave and ready, let the fun begin!
5
The night finally came, they went out the door. Aspen wasn't scared, not anymore. She buzzed to the neighbors, 'Trick or treat!' They gave her candy, oh so sweet.
6
She saw other kids, in costumes so bright. They laughed and played, in the moonlight. Aspen felt happy, with friends all around. Halloween was fun, she had finally found.
7
Back home they went, tired but glad. Aspen said, 'Mom, I'm not scared, I'm so glad!' They snuggled up close, the night was done. Aspen now knew, Halloween was fun.
