The Struggling Fish

He Doesn't Speak Fish

Sally the seagull flew high over the sparkling sea. She spotted a fish that was struggling and looked very worried. The fish said, 'I got caught up and the fisherman is trying to take me for a ride.' Sally wondered how she could help her new friend.

The fish gathered all his strength and jumped out of the water. He shouted, 'LET ME GO! Please!' with a polite and brave voice. The fisherman kept trying to reel him in without stopping. In a quiet voice, the fish admitted, 'He doesn't speak fish.'

Sally flew closer to the fisherman as the fish waited below. She said, 'Excuse me, sir, could you please let my friend the fish go?' The fisherman only replied with sounds like 'caw, caw, caw caaaw, caw caw.' Sally felt sad because he did not understand her kind words.

Just then, a sea otter swam up to join their talk. He asked, 'What is happening here?' The fish and Sally explained the problem with the fisherman. The otter listened carefully and promised to help, showing that friends can work together.
