Meet Your Family

Once upon a time, there was a mama named Mama and her little baby boy named Lochlan. One day, Mama decided to tell Lochlan about their special family history. She began by talking about her own childhood. Mama grew up spending time with her Grandma and Grandpa Gross. She had many special memories with them.

Mama told Lochlan about Grandma Darlene, who grew up in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. Grandma Darlene had two sisters and loved to roller skate. She also liked to write and had many stories to share. Mama shared how Grandma Darlene met Grandpa James at the Falls Ballroom. They fell in love and got married on September 1st, 1956.

Next, Mama talked about Grandpa James, who grew up in Lastrup, Minnesota. Grandpa James had two brothers and two sisters and helped at his father's grocery store. He could fix just about anything and even joined the Navy. Mama shared that Darlene and James had four daughters together. They loved traveling, camping, and having family dinners.

Mama remembered spending time with her grandparents at their camper at Camp Holiday. They celebrated Christmas, holidays, and birthdays together. Mama was very close to Grandma Darlene and treasured the wedding ring Grandpa James gave her in 1956. Mama told Lochlan that Grandma and Grandpa are now buried at Fort Snelling. She hoped Lochlan would cherish these family stories as much as she did.
