The Lucky Morning
Tina's Toonie Tale
One sunny morning, Tina found a shiny toonie on her way to school. She felt like the luckiest girl in the world. With no pockets in her dress, she carefully placed it in her backpack. Tina couldn't wait to tell her friends about her find. The toonie was lost at recess. Tina was sad. A girl from her class, Mary, offered to help look for it. They found it together and then Tina bought her new friend Mary a popsicle and they enjoyed it together and became friends.

Today was Fun Friday, the day when students could buy treats at school. Tina had plans for her toonie. She dreamed about the delicious popsicle she would buy. The thought made her smile all the way to school.
2
Tina couldn't keep her secret. During recess, she showed her friends the toonie. They all cheered, imagining the treats they would buy if they had one. Tina felt proud and happy to share her joy.
3
But when recess ended, Tina's heart sank. She reached for her backpack and discovered the toonie was gone. Tears welled up in her eyes. She felt her lucky day had turned unlucky.
4
Seeing Tina upset, a kind-hearted peer named Alex approached her. "What's wrong?" he asked. Tina shared her story through sniffles. Alex smiled gently, "Let's find it together."
5
Tina and Alex started their search. They looked under the swings and around the slides. Every corner of the playground was inspected. But the toonie was nowhere to be found.
6
Just when they were about to give up, Alex had an idea. "Let's check the sandbox. It's easy to miss something there." Filled with new hope, they hurried over.
7
Digging through the sand, Tina felt something cold and hard. She pulled out her toonie, shining in the sun. Tina and Alex jumped around, cheering. Their teamwork had paid off.
8
With the toonie found, Tina knew exactly what to do. She ran to the school store with Alex. Together, they bought two popsicles, one for each of them. It was the best treat ever.
9
Tina thanked Alex for his help. "I couldn't have found it without you," she said. Alex just smiled, "That's what friends are for." They enjoyed their popsicles, chatting and laughing.
10
From that day on, Tina and Alex were inseparable. They shared many adventures, both at school and after. Their friendship had started with a lost toonie, but it grew into something priceless.
11
Tina learned that sometimes, losing something can lead to finding something even more valuable. She found a friend in Alex. And together, they learned the power of teamwork and kindness.
