The Promise
Waiting on Dad
Tolliver was a bright, young boy who loved playing soccer with his friends. He always looked forward to spending time with his dad, who promised to take him to the big game. But as the sun dipped below the horizon, Tolliver's dad was nowhere to be found. Tolliver felt a pang of disappointment as he realized that his dad had broken his promise once again.

Mom noticed Tolliver's sadness and sat down next to him. She wrapped her arms around him and said, "I know you're upset, but I want you to remember that you are loved. You don't need to wait for someone who doesn't show up." Tolliver felt comforted by his mom's words and knew that he could always count on her.

The next day, Tolliver decided to make the most of his time. He went to the park and played soccer with his friends, feeling the joy of being surrounded by people who cared about him. As he laughed and ran around, he realized that he didn't need his dad to have a good time.

As the days went by, Tolliver found happiness in the love and support of his mom and friends. He learned that family isn't just about blood relations, but also about the people who stand by you through thick and thin. And as he kicked the soccer ball into the goal, he knew that he was surrounded by the love that truly mattered.
