The Curious Question
Why do Animals have super powers?
One sunny afternoon, Levi was playing in the garden. He saw a bird flying high in the sky. Levi ran to his Papa and asked, 'Papa, why do animals have superpowers, and we don't?' Papa smiled and said, 'That's a great question, Levi!'
1
'Birds have wings that help them fly,' Papa explained. 'Their wings are their superpower.' Levi's eyes widened in amazement. 'But we don't have wings,' Levi said. 'No, but we have airplanes to help us fly,' Papa replied.
2
'What about fish?' Levi asked. 'Fish have fins to swim fast,' Papa answered. 'Their fins are their superpower.' Levi thought for a moment. 'We swim with our arms and legs,' he said. 'Exactly!' Papa nodded.
3
'Cheetahs can run very fast,' Papa continued. 'Their speed is their superpower.' Levi imagined running like a cheetah. 'We can't run that fast,' Levi said. 'But we have cars to go fast,' Papa explained.
4
'Owls can see in the dark,' Papa said. 'Their night vision is their superpower.' Levi looked up at the sky. 'We can't see in the dark,' Levi said. 'But we have flashlights to help us see,' Papa replied.
5
'Dolphins talk to each other with sounds,' Papa explained. 'Their communication is their superpower.' Levi loved dolphins. 'We talk with words,' Levi said. 'Yes, and we have phones to talk to anyone, anywhere,' Papa added.
6
'Bees work together to make honey,' Papa said. 'Their teamwork is their superpower.' Levi thought about his friends. 'We work together too,' Levi said. 'That's right, and together we can do great things,' Papa smiled.
7
'So, do we have superpowers, Papa?' Levi asked. 'Yes, Levi,' Papa said. 'Our brains and hearts are our superpowers. We can think, create, and love.' Levi hugged his Papa. 'We are super too!' he exclaimed.
